EdDereDdE Laval a great friend of mine will be on German RL national TV (ARD) for a SL documentary, it is fantastic. He sent me this invitation to be extend to all SL community.
Congrats Ed you deserve it.
The south western SWR section of the German RL national TV (ARD) is creating a documentary about EdDereDdE Laval's (yes me, the little pale dwarf) approaches to combine SL and RL in collaboration with the artists all over the world.
i would rather call it "about the future of media and mixed reality collaboration"
One part of this is a special event in SL:
A few chosen artists (solists and bands) are invited to be interviewed and presented on SL stage within this documentary to show certain specific aspects like the following examples:
VLB - as a true "pure" virtualy collaborating band
SOAR -as an established RL band using SL
Jayninen Scarborough - as an example of a German long time professional in RL and SL
Donfranko Dagostino - as a "newer" artist who uses SL to build up a SL/RL fan base (was interviewed in RL already at the REIS RL concert recordings)
Tomgirl Euler - as example for Asia and EDs asian activities
Peregrine Singh - as a professional artist who got a new musical orientation via SL for his solist activities
The Set-up will be at "little hohenzollern" (the replica of the German Emperors root castle, another aspect shown about mixed reality possibilities to mirror events in RL and SL replica).

Everyone knows about Ipanema the famous beach in Rio de Janeiro – Brazil, but have you heard about the Iracema beach?
The name Iracema refers to a South American Indian female and her name means honey-lips in Tupi-Guarani language. In the 19th century, José de Alencar, one of the greatest Brazilian writers, wrote a book called Iracema. The novel narrates, in a poetic way, the love of Martim Soares Moreno, a Portuguese hero in the Brazilian colonization, and the virgin Iracema. She is a gorgeous Indian with honey lips and black hair. The name Iracema doesn't appear in the History books, but Alencar said that his novel was inspired by tales he heard since childhood.
Iracema beach has a tradition of being a meeting point of intellectuals and bohemians. More recently, the area became known for its busy nightlife. Iracema used to be a harbor zone, until the late 1980s, when the Government started to incentives new businesses. Old buildings were overhauled, and many restaurants, art shops and night clubs were opened in the area.
If you want to visit Iracema beach you should go to Fortaleza the capital of Ceará state, located in Northeastern Brazil. This beautiful city is the ideal destination for sun lovers and those seeking relaxation, entertainment and fun. The city has about 300 days of sunshine per year. Here you never lose a day in your vacation because of bad weather that’s the 300 reasons for taking your holiday in Brazil. Fortaleza is a very good suggestion for a vacation. The "Land of the Sun" is a Modern metropolis located in front of the Atlantic Ocean little below the equator. Besides beautiful and paradisiacal beaches the land of Iracema offers great hospitality, luxury hotels, tasty cuisine and rich handicrafts.
Fortaleza offers a huge number of beaches, each one with its particularity like Iracema, Meireles, Mucuripe and Praia do Futuro. Meireles beach has the best hotels, bazaars and pubs with live music every night. Mucuripe is the place where Jangadas used by fishermen can be seen during the afternoon returning from the sea and, part of the catch is sold in an old style fish market there. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a strong wave’s beach with clear water then you should go to Praia do Futuro. Even the kids can have fun at Beach Park - A large water park with numerous slides, many swimming pools (including on with waves) and even an artificial river 300 meters long.
Not only the state capital is a good option for your holiday but other small cities, from Ceará state, can offer a lot of fun. The state is one of the most pleasant places to visit with almost 600 km of beautiful and endless beaches, having warm waters from the Atlantic Ocean, like: Canoa Quebrada, Jericoacoara, Morro Branco, Taíba and Flexeiras. Porto das Dunas and Cumbuco are preferred by sailors and for windsurfing and surf practice. Cumbuco, one of those small towns, has many sand dunes, where you can make a tour on a buggy and exotically surf in the sand. Actually dunes are transformed into radical "waves" and you can slide on them landing in the worm sea waters.
Relax at the beach and enjoy shrimp and lobster with a native fruit cocktails or a Caipirinha, is a good option. So, what are you waiting to visit Brazil?

Pronounced 'KIE-PUR-REEN-YAH', this fresh, exotic cocktail typically brazilian is known nationally and internationally and has attracted more and more admirers in the whole world.
The Caipirinha was born in São Paulo in the 18th century. At that time, the cachaça (a distilled liquor made of sugar cane), abundant in the villages, was consumed by his pure lovers, all men. Not to leave the shot when they were sick, they have transformed medicine in adding lemon and garlic - ingredient once despised. Much later, in the 1950s with the development of these places, the drink has won fans in cities and ended up like this: Cachaça, lemon, sugar and ice.
The drink became almost compulsory in all types of events, from festivals to weddings to birthdays and also in all the bars. The traditional Caipirinha is made with cachaça, sugar and lemon, but as is the nature of Brazilian creativity and innovation, today you can find in the events also caipirinhas made with sake or vodka with fruit as strawberry, kiwi, watermelon, and passion fruit. But around the world the traditional caipirinha is the most famous version mainly in Europe and the U.S.
Than enjoy the recipe
1 lemon
2 ounces of Cachaça
Sugar to taste
Ice cubes
Wash the lemon and roll it on the board to loosen the juices. Cut into pieces and place them in a glass. Sprinkle with sugar and crush the pieces (pulp side up) with a pestle. (We have a long, wooden one from Brazil, made specifically for this purpose.) Just enough to release the juice, otherwise it'll get bitter. Add the Cachaça and stir to mix. Add the ice and stir again. It is delicious and potent!
You can also make a pitcher of Caipirinha. Figure out how many people and multiply amounts. If you can't find Cachaça where you live, use good vodka. The drink will then be called Caipiroshka. No vodka? Use white rum and you will have a Caipiríssima. Caipirinhas made with sake and lychee are all the rage in Brazil now! Try one...

How to live stream from your webcam into Second Life
Below I posted an article about live streaming webcam Second Life and this is how to do it. This guide information source is the blogwebcam.

1. Sign up for a free account at veodia.com . Veodia output can be played in Quicktime, which is the format Second Life needs.
2. Check your upload speed using. Veodia requires an upload speed of 500+ kbps . Mine is around 800, but I think it may dip under 500 every so often, so I cannot stream from home.
3. Switch on your webcam
4. Select “Start new broadcast”
5. Press “start”
6. The footage is streamed onto a web page, for which you will get a link. This link is the same each time you restart the show.
7. Find the bit of code starting with “rstp”. This changes for each show. This is the code you will need for Second Life.
8. Log in as the island owner.
9. Go to World>About Land > Media.
10. Paste the “rstp” code into the box and select “set”
11. Check in the same window to check what is set as the “default media texture”. If you have not changed it, then it should be kind of grey.
12. Create a simple media viewer by creating a cube using building tools. Add the “default media texture” as the texture on the outside of the cube.
13. Ensure that your video preferences are set to automatically play video
14. All should work. I found that veodia streams varied, and sometimes you need to restart several times (and re-paste the rstp) to get it working. I checked in the web page that the show streamed to to see whether it looked flaky.

Tip How transmit video from your Webcam in Second Life
I was looking for news for the Blog and found this old one, but very interesting for those who like videos, and thought it was worth translating and posting it here on the blog. If anyone knows more tips I will love so publish. Please send me a comment.

You want to transfer video from your Webcam into an event in Second Life or even in your land for friends seeing you in real life? For those who have been frustrated trying the good news is that it is possible, provided of course that you have access to broadband Internet with a minimum speed of around 500 Kbps for upload (check the page of your provider because they normally only disclose the speed to download.
The procedure is relatively simple but involves the creation of a free account at Veodia web site: http://veodia.com/
This is necessary because the web service provides the output to Quicktime, the format adopted by the Second Life for video. With the account created, simply follow the steps in the tutorial presented in Webcam Blog, available at: http://www.blogwebcam.com/webcam-hardware/how-to-live-stream-from-your-webcam-into-second-life
