It's obviously fake (especially the release date — "late 2009") but it certainly makes us dream about the future of virtual reality. On the post below there is an invitation about real life x second life or, better, like Ed named “about the future of media and mixed reality collaboration”. Maybe the future is what the video shows and, if it is will make the artist shows in SL so much real. Won’t they?

Tip How transmit video from your Webcam in Second Life
I was looking for news for the Blog and found this old one, but very interesting for those who like videos, and thought it was worth translating and posting it here on the blog. If anyone knows more tips I will love so publish. Please send me a comment.

You want to transfer video from your Webcam into an event in Second Life or even in your land for friends seeing you in real life? For those who have been frustrated trying the good news is that it is possible, provided of course that you have access to broadband Internet with a minimum speed of around 500 Kbps for upload (check the page of your provider because they normally only disclose the speed to download.
The procedure is relatively simple but involves the creation of a free account at Veodia web site: http://veodia.com/
This is necessary because the web service provides the output to Quicktime, the format adopted by the Second Life for video. With the account created, simply follow the steps in the tutorial presented in Webcam Blog, available at: http://www.blogwebcam.com/webcam-hardware/how-to-live-stream-from-your-webcam-into-second-life

Reis do Brazil a Real Singer in the Virtual World

Graça Reis or just Reis for her increasing number of admirers all over the world is graduated in singing by Bahia Federal University (UFB - Brazil) with music specialization in Berlin. In a period where talent, occasionally, is more important than academic education, at least in Brazil, Reis has both. Reis came from a musical background that was somewhat academic, but also brought personal experience and professional knowledge of Brazilian popular music. Also, she is gorgeous, sexy and has an extraordinary voice. Someone said “a voice of sugar with the strength of steel”.
Her biography is a mix of popular and erudite participation, sometimes accompanied by great popular and famous Brazilian musicians. In 2000 she had the main female role in the pop opera “Rei Brasil”, for the celebration of Brazilian 500th discovery anniversary, with an audience of 6,000 people on each performance at Salvador – Bahia.
In 2002 Reis perform “Brizzi do Brasil”, during two months at “Teatro XVIII”, in Salvador, featuring Caetano Veloso, Arnaldo Antunes, Virginia Rodrigues, Margareth Menezes and Zeca Baleiro, among others as special guests.
Regardless of her professional boyhood, Graça has also international experience with tours in many different countries. Reis live presence is ethereal and hypnotic with her live vocals expanded beyond melancholy female voice. She sings lyrics in English, Portuguese, Italian, French, with the charm of her Brazilian sexy voice. All her talent was crowned in 2004 as special guest in Manuel Paulo’s album (EMI).

2005 was her start shining year as a celebrity. That year she took the main role in “Mambo Mistico” a musical by Aldo Brizzi and Alfredo Arias produced by “Théâtre de Chaillot” – Paris. She also released in 2005 her debut album “Aço do Açúcar” (Sugar of Steel). The title is at the same time the album title and the band name. The band is from Salvador-Bahia and is formed by Reis; Alex Mesquita - guitars; Luizinho do Jêje, percussion; and by Aldo Brizzi on keyboard and electronics. Aldo is the main author of the group’s songs and producer of the project. Aço do Açúcar rehearsals are like a laboratory of experimentation of new esthetics mixing with elements of Brazilian, African, and European music forms and constantly seeks to transcend the difference between traditional sounds and mainstream pop influences. These result in a sophisticated music with the ability to provoke and satisfy.
From 2006 she works with Aldo Brizzi on the Reis project. That included Europe tours in Italy, France, Germany, UK (festival shows like Aterforum in Ferrara, GMEM in Marselha, Oxident in Berlim, Notting Hill Arts in London, Preguillac in France and La Palma in Roma).
In 2007 she sang in Egypt (Cairo Opera House) and presented the “Loving Glance” concert tour in Brazil; Chile, Bolivia and Europe. In 2008 she records her EP “Reis” lunched in Mexico and USA. This EP is pure electronic music produced by Aldo Brizzi with live vocals expanded beyond melancholy female voice by Reis. It develops into a wide range of electronic and electronic-influenced music and combines elements of trip hop, IDM, and classical into Brazilian blends such as Bossa Nova. Tempo varies from quite down tempo to very fast in break core-derived and drum’s bass styles. Melodies and harmonies create a rich and tense sound that emphasizes the erotic, mystic and poetic themes of the lyrics and their realities, stranger than dreams
She loves a new challenge and presented her pure natural and sophisticated voice also in the virtual worlds like Second Life. Reis multimedia concert is something out of this world, with video-art projected on screens and singer costumes design. Reis is Reis Alter in Second Life. Her presence in SL is uniqueness and open new horizons. A real life professional career extended and developed also in Second Life. In SL Reis Alter is often invited by prime venues such as Zurich Opera, La Scala Milano Theater, Slimmie's, Cairo Opera. The repertoire is the same intriguing blend of new trip hop and electronic of the Real Life Reis concerts.

Sennaspirit Coronet Opening, by Lucille Morigi
Senna is one of the greatest artists in secondlife.
Always seeking different angles and effects to reach the public with his work, he finally decided to exhibit some of his pictures taken in second life.
I am so proud to be not only one of his friends but also to be part of the exhibition, since one of the portraits he took of me is there now to be seen by everyone.
We have talked some other day about art. I told him that the artist can't control what people will feel with the art. He added: can provoque, not control.
I agreed.
Senna is an artist, not only a photographer.
Above all, he is a great human being.

Bradesco celebrates Japanese immigration
The 100th Anniversary of Japanese Immigration to Brazil is celebrated at the Bradesco Cultural Center in Second Life with a creative recreation of icons and scenery along with a fusion with the traditional Brazilian Junine Party, renamed as "Rokugatsu Matsuri" (literally, Junine Party). The festival will take place on June, 18, starting at 8 PM (04:00PM PDT) with in-world games and prizes, costume festival and even a virtual karaoke. Participants will be awarded special prizes offered by Livraria Cultura and the São Paulo Convention and Visitors Bureau. Complete program at www.fl2.com.br/bradesco.

Tips for a good Picture –Anna Avalanche
Continuing the last article I would like to give some tips that might help photographers in SL.
I am planning to make a picture contest every week, so this tips and clues will help you when the time comes. So take your “camera” and practice with this tips. When I made the challenge you will be a professional. If you are already a professional photographer and would like to give us other tips please write a comment.
First you need to enable the ADVANCED menu: type Ctrl + Alt + D and a new menu with more options will open.
Go to ADVANCED and enable High-res Snapshot. This is one of the tricks for a good quality picture.
Now Disable Camera Constrains if you want more detail picture, specially for landscape. This will permit bigger zoom.
For big resolution picture adjust EDIT > PREFERENCE > GRAPHICS to the maximum, ULTRA. Take care, this can make you computer slow if you don’t have a good graphics card.
If you want to adjust the sky and water edit your preference at WORLD > ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS > ENVIRONMENTAL EDITOR.
To make a personalize edition for the sky and water you will need to open the ADVANCED SKY or ADVANCED WATER window. Just like the illustration below. You can save your configuration if you wish.
After this go to FILE menu and choose TAKE SNAPSHOT. This will open a new window.
This new window will give you picture size, color, and save on disk option. It is always good to remember that bigger pictures will create a bigger file.
The last clue is to enable VIEW > CAMARA CONTROL. A small windows will open. This window permits you to change zoom and the camera angle easier.
Ok, now you are ready. Don’t forget to use good poses and take care where the eyes are focusing.

Friends Fighting Cancer team Relay For Life benefit Concert 3
My friend Music Hyun is helping to promote a benefit Concert and I would like to invite everyone to see the fantastic show.
We are fortunate to have three of SLs top live sim filling musicians joining us to help us raise funds to fight the horrible disease of cancer. Bring your friends and dance away at this amazing 3 hour concert which is an official fundraising event for RFL. Help us raise the roof and show how much we care!
